Awesome Strings!

I got the strings just to try something new. I always though roundwound strings felt a little rough,yet flatwound strings sounded too dull. I got these, thinking they would stay on for a couple of days, just as a quick experiment. NO WAY! They feel almost as smooth as flatwounds, sound just as brigh...

Excellent Strings

These strings have the great feel of a set of flatwounds: smooth, and easy to play. The tone, however, is much more like that of a set of roundwounds. Bright, bluesy, and mellow at the same time, these strings are great, clean and through an overdrive. I find bending just as easy as my roundwounds, and these strings also feel much cleaner to my fingers.

Better than flatwounds for blues & rock!

To those who have criticized these strings as too rough or that they tear up you fingers I would say, practice more and develop some calluses. These strings are VERY close to being as smooth as chrome flat rounds but are MUCH louder and clearer on the bottom 4 than flats. I use this lighter gauge (10-46) because I need to bend the strings in my blues/rock work but I can see these doing as well in a jazz scene. I love em and I plan to buy them again...and again.

I like these, because they're the perfect merger between flatwounds & roundwounds.

very versatile

first i bought a regular light set for a gretsch jet and extra lights for a telecaster, with the g-string out of the regular set. great, no finger noise. as an experiment i strung the electric EHR310 onto an open tuned 585mm short scale acoustic with a naturally very good projection. F - Bb - F - Bb - D - F tuning and i am extremely fond of this one. there is a lot of give in half rounds and they stay bright, because there is no gunk building up in the winding gaps to dull the sound. a little
